An Evening Is A Lifetime

I feel good because my room is clean, and it feels like mine again
Home alone with the posters on my walls, to put lipstick on
And watch raindrops hit the screen

I feel old and worried
I’ll never be this young again
Though reassured fairly by internet strangers that I shouldn’t know who to be quite yet
Some relief

Pillbox/notebook/big to-do list/dreams
Curtain rod turned closet hung by someone who loves me.
Thank god I really am young and free
Make a habit of enjoying your life
They counter/I repeat/faintly/chanting
Linger silent in my big house, not mine (but it will be)

Unfortunately

When my parents die

Briefly

Wonder what that’s going to feel like/Nope/Nope/Nope
Unhappily
I do not ever want to know.

Good thing we’re all young now,
And it’s all right here to enjoy.

Thank god
Eternally/I hope
