3 Valley
I sit enraged on the edge of my bed
What kind of poison has gotten into your head
My bones are as real as the flood overwhelming the gutter
And if they’re not mine then I’m better off dead.
In that split second I knew where I stood
It was on your land, leaned up as hard as I could
Against the house built by your mother
With her old roof sheltering most of what I call homeland
And that rain beating down on these thousand-year woods -
Such artificialness.
This fire they brought isn’t natural, or good.
Nothing could be true, if not for honesty
I know that, so I believe you and you don’t need to promise me.
It can’t be won but for the sake of it all, I will fight another
I remain on your side
I don’t care for policy
